Marbela Resort, Goa (Jan. 26, 2018) – Mumbai-based heavyweight Jagdeep “the Bullet” Singh defeated Tanzanian veteran Karama Nyilawila in the main event at the first annual Goa - Clean Fights on Friday, with a technical knockout in the third round of a scheduled six-round contest. “Considering it was the first event staged by both Pro BoxSingh Promotions and the South Asia Boxing Association (SABA), the Goa - Clean Fights was a big success,” said SABA chief executive officer Jason Overdorf. “We’re very proud to have brought professional boxing to Goa and to have pioneered boxing on the beach in India.” In other action: Punjab’s Muskaan Sharma defeated Delhi’s Shivani Dahiya by unanimous decision in a four-round super bantamweight (55 kg) fight that marked both boxers’ official professional debuts. (Dahiya’s fights in last year’s Super Boxing League were not recognized by the official record keeper of professional boxing, boxrec.com). Chandigarh’s Gaganpreet Sharma (4-1) picked up his fourth professional win with a unanimous decision victory over Haryana’s Sandeep Nain (0-1) in a four-round super middleweight (76.2 kg) bout. Bhopal’s Asha Roka (1-0-1), a Super Boxing League star, picked up her first official pro win with a unanimous decision over Haryana’s Diksha in a four-round featherweight (57.2 kg) bout. “Gaganpreet showed once again he has potential to be a fan favorite, with a hard- nosed, throwback style that suits his nickname, the Pitbull,” said Overdorf. “I was also impressed with Nain’s heart. He took a beating but kept fighting to the end, showing true Haryanvi pride.” “I was also impressed with the progress Roka has made since the SBL. In those matches, she was very raw, rushing in and brawling. But at the Goa - Clean Fights, she showed she has developed into a skilled technical boxer with a good sense of timing and distance.” "The first amendment in the process of rewriting the constitution of professional boxing has been made. Many more to come this year. Please wait patience, the fights are about to take off. " said Munish Makhija, Promoter - Pro BoxSingh
